About

Welcome to The Worldly Woman – a blog dedicated to adventure-ing around the world and seeking out authentic experiences. I love to explore the world, and here you’ll find a collection of experiences, lessons learned, and advice I’ve accrued after over a decade of solo travel as a woman.

I grew up incredibly curious about the world, fiercely independent, and desperate for adventure beyond my small town. While working to pay my way through engineering school, I used my school breaks to explore the world and discovered how to travel cheaply – the world was open to me.

Before I graduated (with multiple job offers in hand!), I received an international education on the 4am buses of SA and streets of Bangkok. I learned “Thank You” in 11 languages, shot an AK47, shopped at night markets, dove with sharks, ate bugs, and tasted so many new foods and fruits I couldn’t have ever imagined. It was an education and experience I had only ever dreamt of.

Travel continuously broadens my mind, opens my heart, and enriches me soul. I hope you find something in this blog that resonates with you, and inspires you to go beyond your comfort zone, and embrace the unknown. Happy travels!
