Garnachas – fun to say, fun to eat, and fun to make!
These savory snacks are traditional street food found along the Isthmus of Tehuantepec in Mexico (predominantly southeastern parts of Veracruz and Oaxaca). I discovered this recipe through my beloved Veracruz cookbook “Zarela’s Veracruz”, and I can’t wait to sample the real deal while I am traveling in Mexico! I want to know if mine are close to the recipe (I replaced the lard that is traditional in Mexican cuisine). Below is my recipe, review, and results!
